What is my Passion?
There was no hesitation in my mind that I was meant to be a chiropractor. Between my regular visits to my chiropractor to help me as a figure skater perform at my highest abilities, working at a clinic for 4.5 years, and my pure fascination with the human bodies ability to heal itself, I have been head-over-heals in love with chiropractic.
With the experience of working at a clinic I heard hundreds of patient testimonies every week, and visibly saw people improve, in not only their ability to walk out of the office, but in their moods. After an adjustment, people just seemed happier! I figured there had to be something miraculous to this science, and I needed to learn more.
Iām not going to lie, originally I went into chiropractic college expecting to become specialized in sport rehabilitation. That ideal population did not last long.
In school I started to learn about how chiropractic improves the function of the entire nervous system, and if there is a subluxation (an interruption in the communication from the brain to the organ) then the performance of that organ decreases. I started to tie that information into my own health and wellbeing, including my digestive system, stress, and especially reproductive organs.
As I learned about the incredible design of the human body, my passion for helping women through their pregnancy/pregnancies started to grow. The brain and spinal cord (aka the organs that control EVERYTHING in our bodies) of a fetus (a baby growing in mommas belly) begins to develop at 6 weeks after fertilization. For majority of women, these organs are developed before they even know they are pregnant.
Knowing that, sparked something within me - Why are we not focusing on the health of a baby before they are born? And then continue to nurture and care for it as their nervous system continues to develop throughout their life?
I truly believe that we need to take care of our women, provide them education to support all stages of life, and especially take care of our next generation as soon as possible.
How do we do this? By providing safe, gentle, and high quality adjustments their nervous system to free them of subluxations, to allow children to have the greatest chance of reaching their full potential.
